Diagnosis and first session
Unlike subsequent treatments lasting about one hour, the first session will take around one-and-a-half hours, during which the therapist will gently explore the responses to pressure points in order to determine the client’s condition and determine the best approach to beginning treatment.
It is necessary that the client be comfortable and relaxed before and during each session. The bowels and bladder should be empty and no food, water or stimulating beverages ingested for a half-hour prior to treatment. Therapist and client decide the most effective working position: traditional Japanese floor futon, massage table or massage chair.
After the initial treatment, the therapist will comprehend the best approach to leading the body back into balance, thus allowing it to begin the process of self-healing. Drinking a good quantity of water will help flush out built-up toxins. The therapist now will advise the client of his findings and recommendation for continued treatments.
Clothing
Easily removable footwear with socks is recommended. And, as the therapist works through it, clothing should be loose and light, thin workout clothes being the best.
