Your therapist: Eisbrand H.F. Sijmons
After my basic training in medicine, I became interested in the physical/spiritual healing expressed in reiki, and began studies in 1999, becoming a master in 2001. Next, studies in Silva Mind Control brought me certification in that field. Hypnotherapy then caught my attention, gaining me a diploma in 2002.
The next year I discovered the ultimate goal of my training: shiatsu. I knew that this was the practice I wished to pursue. Having always been drawn to Eastern philosophies and their methods of healing, I was led through tai chi and reiki to discover the power of the chi – life force -- in myself and others. Shiatsu gave me the tools to use this power in healing the body and mind. After passing my exams in basic Medical Shiatsu Therapy, I received my first shiatsu diploma in 2004. After that, I explored numerous trainings within the field; the list of them is on the left of the page.
Medical Shiatsu Therapists are required to have updates every two years in order to remain registered with the European Shiatsu Association. Now in my own practice, I treat many clients and enjoy broadening my experience every day. This evolving education is to me a challenge that contributes to great understanding of the powers of healing and allows me to provide more effective treatment. In the last two years, I have begun training to become a shiatsu instructor myself, and hope to achieve this goal in May of this year.
